The Last Kiwi Holiday Joyride

sand, seaweed and a road called sunset parade

2nd prompt for Pic of the Week 8

The round-a-bout: challenging while stone-cold sober, impossible after fifth of vodka. I should’ve known better. Hell, I did know better.

The rental finally died. I coasted to the shoulder and cozied up to the retaining wall, wrong side of the road – again. Old habits die hard.

Sitting. Waiting. The sea, my old friend, offers neither explanations nor apologies. I’ll quit drinking. It’ll take. This time, it’ll take.

Doesn’t matter which side you’re on. When the sky’s that wide, there is no escape.

    One can, indeed.
