The Wizards Who Were One

A heron stalks a koi through the reeds. “I will get you, old friend,” the bird says to himself.

“I will kill you and eat you and gain your power. But not today. Today you swim deep into the cold water where I cannot follow.”

“But I will wait. I am patient. I will catch you and eat you and become whole again.”

Thanks Dhyan. I do have a larger story in mind before this, but I have not given too much thought as to what might happen when or if the heron does finally catch the koi. Glad you enjoyed!
